I am searching for Louisa Davis,
nee Paddison and formerly Geoghan .
In 1885 Louisa and her children were in the Stoke on Trent workouse...had her husband deserted her?
There was no further sighting of him Stephen Geoghan until 1901 when he was in Liverpool, census states he was unmarried!
Obviously Louisa either lied stating she was a widow, or had she believed he was dead? when she remarried to Alfred Davis in 1885.
Her children except for the eldest son Patrick were sent to Canada and their surname changed to Gagan.
Had she known they were being sent away, when did she leave the workhouse?
and what happened to Patrick?
Any help to answer these questios would be much appreciated. |
